Pet Health

Pet Health Most pet owners don’t realize their furry friends can become diabetic.  The symptoms in animals are much the same as diabetes in humans.

  1. Excessive eating
  2. Excessive drinking and urination
  3. Weight Loss

These changes can occur quickly and if left untreated, serious consequences such as cataracts and severe changes in the way their body functions can occur.  Typically insulin is required to control diabetes in your pet.  The amount of insulin required to regulate blood glucose varies greatly from dog to dog.  Cats are typically more difficult to regulate than dogs.  So if your pet (dog or cat) is showing symptoms they should be seen by your veterinarian.
