Where Can I Serve?
One way to live out our membership vows at Myers Memorial UMC is to volunteer in various areas within the church. There are many ways to share your gifts! Contact Pastor Sarah to help you get connected!
Mission Possible
Myers Memorial UMC is proud of its Mission Possible team. Mission Possible is a means by which we fulfill the command of our Lord given in Matthew 25: 31-46. Since its inception in July 2009, the Mission Possible team has worked hundreds of days completing nearly 100 projects with over 512 volunteers. The team works mostly in Gaston County, but has completed projects in North Carolina Mountains and has made two trips to Florida, completing 4 projects there. They have been involved with Hope 4 Gaston projects, Habitat for Humanity homes and WNCC Impact Day. If you would like to become part of this team, please contact the church at 704-864-3222 for information how to get involved in upcoming projects.
International Missions
Myers Memorial is active in international missions and outreach. Here you can find video and brochure about the THaKO Orphanage in Haiti, which our church has been a big part of, as well as information on upcoming National and International Mission Trips through the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. THaKO’s desire is to meet the needs of children living in extreme poverty by providing the basic necessities like food, clothing, shelter, health-care, education and a caring environment. Our goal is not achievable without the continued support of our donors. Please consider making a tax deductible gift to help us complete the work that is about 75% complete.
Music & Worship Arts
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in the visual arts. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
