National Outreach Ministries

Members of Myers Memorial serve as Christ’s hand and feet through support of mission trips, both youth and adult, to help those in need. Past mission trips have included Appalachia to help families living in poverty, Florida to help children of migrant farm workers and Mississippi to help Hurricane Katrina victims.

We also participate in the Western North Carolina Conference United Methodist Volunteers in Mission Building Teams as needed. These building teams provide short-term mission experiences for our members who which to donate there time and talents beyond the local community. The trips usually last 10 to 14 days and construction skills are desired but NOT required. These trips provide lessons, friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

United Methodist Children’s Fund for Christian Mission helps children to learn about and make contributions to a select group of mission projects that are chosen for their value in helping children understand what it means to “be in mission.” The policy of the Children’s Fund is first to educate children about mission and second to provide a way for children to give to mission beyond their local church.
