New Year, New Health Goals!

Are you in need of a reset of your eating plan or overall health? Whole30 may be for you. Come join our virtual Whole30 group sponsored jointly by Myers Memorial and First United Methodist churches, led by Lee Black and Dr. Allison Evanoff.
 
To determine if this may be something for you, ask yourself these questions:
  • Do you battle sugar cravings that are keeping you from meeting your health and fitness
    goals?
  • Do you suffer from energy slumps, brain fog?
  • Are you finding it difficult to burn fat and/or battling a slow metabolism?
  • Are you suffering from signs of chronic inflammation such as unexplained joint aches, muscle injuries, GI distress (gas, bloating, constipation/diarrhea or food allergies?
We begin with an introduction about all of the details on Thursday, January 25th at 6:30 and will meet weekly by zoom. The website Whole30.com has all the details as well if you want to read about it before the first meeting.
 
If you’ve done it before and want an accountability group to do it again and/or to share your successes and challenges with others, please join in.
 
 
Lace up your shoes and let’s get moving! The Myers Health Cabinet is excited to offer you this opportunity to walk together! The goal is fitness and fellowship on the first Saturday of each month at 9am and the locations will vary. This group is open to all ages! If you are interested, please contact Allison Evanoff.  Allison will contact you with any last minute details and let you know where the next month’s hike will be located!

The Hope4NC Helpline (1-855-587-3463) connects North Carolinians to additional mental health and resilience supports that help them cope and build resilience during times of crisis. As part of the state’s recent hurricane recovery efforts it served over 4,400 people in the most impacted counties, and now it is being made available to everyone in North Carolina’s 100 counties during the COVID-19 crisis. This initiative is in partnership with all seven of the state’s LME/MCOs and REAL Crisis Intervention Inc. in Greenville. Hope4NC is now available 24 hours per day, seven days a week to speak to a live person.

Let me share with you the 15 foods that stimulate heartburn…all of which I like!  So, unfortunately all the good things to eat increase heartburn, but by trying to minimize some of these foods, you can reduce your severity or incidence of GERD.
